The idea behind Sunshine in a Cup™ stemmed from Mackenzie's lifelong dream to create a lemonade stand that goes beyond just selling drinks. Mackenzie wanted to provide a platform for kids to express their creativity and learn about entrepreneurship. Each stand is a canvas for young minds, where they can design their own decorations and menu items, making every Sunshine in a Cup™ location one-of-a-kind.
One of the core values of Sunshine in a Cup™ is to empower kids to believe in their entrepreneurial potential. Often, children think they can't own a business, but at Sunshine in a Cup™, they can! With parental permission, kids can open their own franchises without any cost or pay involved. They can purchase supplies directly from our franchise website and must use our logo, ensuring a consistent brand while allowing for individual creativity. Our goal is to build a network of young business enthusiasts who learn and grow together.
Every Sunshine in a Cup™ stand is unique. Some stands feature music, others host events like disco hours or have charming addons like a little box cart. This variety makes each visit to Sunshine in a Cup™ a special experience.
We've had our share of fun and memorable moments. For instance, at one of our franchises near a bike path, two teen bikers rode by and humorously shouted the name of a politician, "Peter Pelegrini," at the stand owner. It's moments like these that bring laughter and a sense of community to our stands.
Looking ahead, Mackenzie aims to expand Sunshine in a Cup™ and offer even more kids the opportunity to run their own businesses.
